When you are asked into the audition room in United Kingdom or in other places, when you enter the room, smile and introduce yourself to the casting director. Hand the assistant your head shot with your resume attached to the back. Announce the audition piece you will be performing and begin when you are ready. Do not wait for the word "action" or any other sign from the casting director. They are most likely tired, bored and irritable. Just be confident and begin your audition after you have introduced yourself and you know your audience is ready. Thank the casting director when you have finished and leave immediately.
There are three main things to keep in mind when performing in United Kingdom auditions. They want you to do well. The United Kingdom talent audition process is as exhausting and difficult for them as it is for you. They're just waiting for the right person to walk in the room so they can all go home. Seeing them as the enemy doesn't serve you. Don't let the intimidating and often unfriendly situation keep you from doing your best work.
Before the audition in United Kingdom. You should warm up for a talent casting just as an athlete warms up for competition. Do a few stretches and vocal exercises, and take one more chance to rehearse your lines. Then relax yourself. It's very easy to get overly nervous before a talent casting, and that nervousness will show. After you arrive at the talent casting and sign in, you'll probably have time to wait for a few minutes until it is your turn to perform. There will be other actors waiting with you, but it's best to avoid the temptation to talk and gossip with them. Stay focused... you can always socialize later. The United Kingdom Casting Director is the person who you will most likely be auditioning for. Depending on how busy he or she is, the CD may take a few minutes to talk with you or may just say "hello" and ask you to begin.
